MARKÉTA ZLESÁKOVÁ – BEHIND THE WINDOWS…
Markéta Zlesákova’s work exists on the boundary between fine art and applied textiles, and these two approaches are constantly overlapping and influencing one another. In her fine art activities, she is a painter of poetic landscapes and still-lifes with a stylistic resemblance to the impressionists and expressionists, though with a neo-postmodern understanding of painting. She finds inspiration from intensive contact with nature and from environments that are immediately surrounded by it. Behind the Windows… presents a selection of her most recent paintings, some of which have never been exhibited before. They are melancholy and dreamlike vistas of home and the outdoors, captivating views from windows and doorways, and wistfully intimate still-lifes.
